Why Us

We are registered and approved by OFSTED for our quality childcare and pre-school education for children between the ages of 10 months and five years. A rich learning environment is provided where children can learn, are given appropriate responsibility, and are allowed to make errors, decisions and choices. We believe that children learn by ‘doing’ and our staff fully support and encourage them in their individual journeys of self-awareness and developmental growth.

At the nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and prepare the children for starting school. Children are encouraged to make their own choices in respect of a variety of structured activities, assisting in their development towards becoming a self-assured and confident child.

Our All Inclusive Service

Our fees, as stated in our current prospectus, are fully inclusive of all meals, snacks, nappies and enrichment activities and are at no extra cost to our parents. Occasionally, we offer voluntary theatre trips at a discounted cost for our children, where a small extra charge is payable.

Open Plan Set Up

As Crown's environment is fully 'open plan' all staff and children are always in view of one another, this enhances our safety and security procedures further.

Large Outside Space

We have an amazing outdoor garden extending to one-fifth of an acre, enabling your children to have access to fresh air and a chance to engage in outdoor activities all year round.

Excellent Quality Equipment

Our nursery is furnished with the highest quality furniture, fittings and toys, with a large array of items from Community Playthings.

Key Person for Each Child

We operate a 'key person' approach here at the nursery, which ensures that each child has a specially assigned carer. This approach has the added benefit of helping your child settle quickly and happily into nursery life.

Online Learning Journal

Regular updates are communicated to parents via our special website based Online Learning Journal (all password protected).

Food / Nut Free Nursery

Excellent quality home cooked food is provided by our longstanding chef, Angela. The kitchen has recently been fully renovated and the nursery is operated as a completely nut free environment. Food is served age appropriately for swallowing and chewing.

Enrichment Activities

Tennis / Sport

We offer weekly Teddy Tennis lessons for a range of ages, especially important as we are based in Wimbledon !

Musical Movement & Drama

Enrichment activities are not just limited to sport, with the children enjoying weekly Musical Movement and Drama classes, helping them bring out their creative side.

Art

Art is a key part of nursery life and we make sure that daily art activities are provided; previous projects have included self-portraits and still life.

Trips & Activities

We undertake regular trips to the local area (park, library, local farm) and visits to the theatre. It’s important that children have the experience of life outside the nursery.

Phonics

We encourage an early start with Phonics, in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stages and to help prepare children for starting school. We work in collaboration with Play Phonics.

Zoolab

Regular visits from Zoolab, create a fun learning environment whilst handling a number of different animals.
