A small, family-run nursery for children aged 10 months to 5 years, on a quiet street near Wimbledon station. With a fifth of an acre of garden to explore.
Crown Kindergartens is an open-plan, private, family run day nursery in Wimbledon that has been caring for children since 1974. Our nursery has a lovely friendly, homely feel that can be lacking in more corporate owned nurseries. We are proud to have received ‘Good’ in all areas of provision by OFSTED.
We are very lucky and enjoy a wonderful large garden space (rare for London), providing children with exciting opportunities to explore, have fun and learn in a safe and secure environment. A covered area allows all-weather play and whether it’s discovering dinosaurs, water play or the mud kitchen, we offer exciting and interactive play for children to learn and develop every day.
Children are looked after by experienced and caring staff, many of whom have been with us for a number of years. Babies thrive in smaller groups, so that is why Crown proudly champions a small group approach with a maximum of 12 babies in our baby room at any time.

Our Nursery
Our nursery is located in a quiet, secure, residential area in the heart of Wimbledon, within walking distance of the mainline and underground stations. We are lucky to have a fifth of an acre garden.
We are open 8am to 6pm, 51 weeks of the year (excluding bank holidays).
We’re a small nursery with 36 places, so every child is known by name. Many of our team have been with us for years, which means the same friendly faces at drop-off.
The first step in your Crown journey is to book a tour, meet the staff and children, at a time and date that suits you.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and children learn by doing.
They work in small groups where every child gets a say and their questions are taken seriously, so they arrive at school used to listening, sharing and having a go.

A team that stays
Crown is still run by a family, and many of our staff have been here for years. Children get to know the same people, and so do you.
Our nursery team is vocational, highly qualified in childcare and teaching, experienced and fun loving; attending regular training days and courses to expand their knowledge and update their skills.
Many of our staff have worked at the nursery for many years and are specifically chosen for the quality, loving care they can offer to all of our children.
Donna has looked after children at Crown for over ten years. She holds a Foundation Degree in Early Years and a BA in Early Childhood Studies.
Louise Muggeridge
Deputy Manager and SENCo
Louise holds a Foundation Degree in Early Years Education and leads our support for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
From our parents
What families love us
★★★★★
Crown is amazing. Highly recommend! Our son loves going to nursery every day and has great relationships with all of the staff. We chose Crown because it is a small family run nursery where every member of the team knows our son by name. We are so grateful to the team for taking such good care of our boy and for helping us understand different development phases when we needed advice - they are the pros.
We've also become friends with the parents of other kids, it's a great little community at Crown.
★★★★★
“A fantastic private nursery, nice environment, well-run with great facilities and an outstanding outdoor garden.”
★★★★★
“Donna and her team have been exceptional and we would definitely recommend them to our friends in the area.”
