Crown Kindergartens is an open-plan private family run day nursery in Wimbledon that has been caring for children since 1974. The day nursery proprietors are sister and brother, Lynne Stanley and David Acres. Lynne and David’s mother founded the nursery in 1974. Their mother, Patricia, couldn’t bear to fully ‘retire’ and can still be seen working busily away in the nursery office at least twice a week!
We are open between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Friday, 52 weeks of the year (excluding bank holidays) and can offer full time and part time care and education to meet all the needs of families with young children. An early start of 7.45am can be considered if directly arranged with our Manager. We are registered and approved by OFSTED for our quality childcare and pre-school education for children between the ages of 10 months and five years. We achieve high standards of excellence through our ongoing quality kitemark assessments.
Our nursery is located in a quiet, secure, residential area in the heart of Wimbledon on one fifth of an acre of land. Our amazing new garden is a beautiful green oasis of adventure for the children that has been divided into four split-level ‘play zones’ and a small specifically designed children’s vegetable garden, all made fully secure with high wooden fences surrounding the garden. Low wooden sleepers have been installed towards the back of the garden for those children simply wishing to sit and watch the world go by.
We are conveniently situated within walking distance of Wimbledon mainline and underground stations. We have special parking arrangements to allow for safe ‘drop-off’ and collection of your child/children.
We operate the ‘key person’ approach here at the nursery which ensures that each child has a specially assigned carer. This approach has the added benefit of helping your child settle quickly and happily into nursery life. Your child’s ‘key person’ plans all activities in advance. Parents evenings are a great forum for meeting with nursery staff and other parents at our setting. Regular meetings are encouraged and can be organised also on request in advance. Please always feel free to ask your child’s key person or our nursery manager if you would like to know what your child can look forward to that day at the nursery.
